Meet the Team!

Colby's Office of Residential Experience is here to support you in your housing journey!

The Residential Experience

Four years of living with some of the smartest, most diverse, and multi-talented people you’ll ever meet - It’s every bit as valuable as the education that you’ll receive inside the classroom!

The residential experience is designed to help you make the most of this community and the opportunities for growth it offers. You’ll live alongside close friends as well as students of different ages, backgrounds, perspectives, and experiences. Trained Community Advisors are there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement while also creating fun experiences to connect, gather, and share.

Of course, Colby wouldn’t be Colby without the Waterville community. Just a shuttle ride down Mayflower Hill, our hometown offers easy opportunities for dinner and a movie with friends, shopping, civic engagement, and internships with local organizations. Close by, you’ll find endless outdoor recreation opportunities. Whether you enjoy hiking, biking, or skiing, there’s something to explore year-round.

Living on campus is about much more than having a place to sleep, so we encourage you to fully embrace your residential experience and your time at Colby. Get to know the remarkable people around you. Stay curious. Make yourself available. Get involved. Be part of the Colby community!

New Student Housing Application

We’re excited to welcome our incoming first-year students to campus! As part of our ongoing efforts to improve the housing experience, we are transitioning to a new housing software system. This new platform will provide a more streamlined and user-friendly process for completing housing applications, roommate preferences, and placement information. We appreciate your patience during this transition and look forward to supporting you every step of the way.

To be assigned on-campus housing, all incoming students MUST complete the New Student Housing Application. When completing the housing application, we ask that you answer fully and honestly, reflecting who you are right now and your current preferences for a shared living environment. Colby believes that beginning your college journey is a valuable opportunity to build new relationships and learn from your peers. Accordingly, we do not accept roommate or building requests.

Important Note for GES and Spring Arrival Students: If you will be participating in the GES program for the Fall 2026 semester, you are NOT required to complete the 2026-2027 New Student Housing Application at this time. You will have the opportunity to complete the necessary application in November in preparation for JanPlan & Spring 2027 housing assignments.
