In All About Art, you can freely express your emotions and show your creativity through art. We provide art supplies such as charcoal, watercolor, and acrylic paint. Our club is designed to be a calm environment for self expression, and anyone of any art experience is welcome. At the end of every meeting, there is a voluntary sharing session during which students may share their feelings and artwork.

The Colby College Student Government Association (SGA) serves the student body by enhancing the student experience through programming and policy. The Association fosters a campus environment built on integrity, respect, and community. It promotes a culture of consent, serves as a resource for students to achieve their academic, extracurricular, and personal goals; and provides transparency with Colby’s Administration. SGA also provides opportunities for students to become productive leaders of the campus, local, and global communities. Mission
Our mission is to cultivate a community where reading is accessible, enjoyable, for all people interested in any genre. In a world where fewer people read for pleasure and books are often associated solely with homework, we aim to revive the simple joy of picking up a book. This club is available to all people as anyone can become a reader. The books we read do not have to be long and dull and exists to remind students that reading can be relaxing, and fun! That is why we will have discussion and polling on what to read each month. Any length and genre is open for discussion, whether it be mystery, a comic, a romance novel, the stories to immerse yourself are endless.

Members will gain access to a welcoming community of readers, weekly book discussions, choosing a book depending on the number of members, and social events such as movie nights, book swaps, and themed meetings. Additionally with fundraising and the funding of the club it is possible for every member to receive their own book free of cost. Participation also includes opportunities for leadership and planning future club activities.

Broadway Musical Revue aims to promote appreciation for and opportunities to participate in the performing arts at Colby College. The club shall do this by putting up one concert per semester with a repertoire of musical theater songs, tailored to the interests and abilities of its members, representing a variety of time periods and styles.

Our mission is to craft a community of students, faculty, and local residents, all deeply engaged with the arts and humanities. We celebrate the intrinsic value of studying language, literature, history, philosophy, the environment, and the creative arts.

Each of our Student Advisory Board members is a passionate environmentalist, a hard-working student, and an innovative and creative thinker. SAB members run EH workshops, attend EH courses, meet regularly to discuss the environment and the humanities at Colby, and produce our environmental humanities literary and art magazine, FAUNA.

The Chemistry Club provides students interested in chemistry with a place to express themselves and chat about chemistry. The main goals of the chemistry club are to let chemistry students, as well as non-chemistry students, connect with each other and get involved with Colby’s Chemistry Department, provide helpful resources like tutoring and information to chemistry (and STEM) students, and most importantly, to inspire and foster interest in chemistry among Colby students.

The Nordic Skiing Club is a team where Nordic skiers can continue to pursue their passion for skiing in college and newcomers can step on skis for the first time. This team gives students an opportunity to practice and compete at a less intense level than varsity sports teams. The club welcomes any level of skier and allows students to stay active in the outdoors during the cold winter months.

We are a co-ed ski racing club. We primarily race and train, but we also love to have fun free skiing. We race in the Reynolds Division of USCSA (United States Collegiate Skiing Association) against several other Maine colleges and universities (Bates, Bowdoin, UMaine Orono, UMaine Farmington, and St. Joseph’s College) almost every weekend between January and March. No racing experience is necessary, and the ski races are all very fun, but you should be an advanced all-mountain skier.

The Club Water Polo team is welcoming of anyone and everyone interested in the wonderful game of water polo. Water polo is a fast paced and action packed sport that is fun for all experience levels. We strive to create an atmosphere centered around learning the fundamentals of the game, having fun, and being competitive with the teams in our conference and the rest of the country. We are beyond excited to utilize the top tier facilities available to us here at Colby and we encourage anyone with a remote interest in water polo to come check out a practice!

The purpose of this club is to provide students with the opportunity to play lacrosse recreationally as well as compete in some smaller-scale scrimmages and games. The club is open to anyone familiar with and willing to follow the rules of women’s lacrosse. It is recommended for players that have participated in the game previously (within that, skill-levels can vary).

The Active Minds Chapter aims to create a compassionate, stigma-free environment where mental health is openly discussed and supported. The chapter will focus on offering suicide awareness, peer advocacy, and educational programming that empowers students to care for themselves and one another. By fostering open dialogue and increasing access to resources, the chapter hopes to reduce the stigma and encourage advocacy for mental health and illness. The Colby Birds will create a community on campus where students, faculty, and members of the Colby community can share their mutual appreciation for nature through participation in bird-focused activities. Proposed programs include birdwatching opportunities and trips on and off-campus, building nest boxes, establishing and maintaining native gardens for bird habitats, collaborating with local/regional/national birding and conservation organizations, and educational opportunities such as speaker events and workshops. Birding, and nature-appreciation more broadly, are activities that anyone can partake in regardless of experience. We want to share inclusive opportunities for people to join in, get to know birds and our ecosystem, practice nature conservation on campus, and foster a shared positive experience with nature in Colby’s community.

The Colby Blue Lights are a tenor-bass a Cappella group founded on the belief that singing and making music together should be utilized for making groovy sounds, meaningful connections, coveted memories, and having fun! We pride ourselves on creating a collaborative environment for our members to bring fun, energy, and entertainment to ourselves and our audiences. Inter-group community is a major focus for the group, which we facilitate through group dinners (Blinner), social events, and in practice! Board Game Club's purpose is to foster an environment where members can engage with tabletop games ranging from board games to tabletop roleplaying games and card games such as Magic: The Gathering. To introduce players of all skills and backgrounds to the world of tabletop games, in a safe and inclusive environment. To offer meaningful alternatives for members of the Colby community who prefer not to party or drink, especially during traditionally party-centric events like Doghead.
