A path to change is right here through SGA motions! Motions can be written by any student and once submitted to the Parliamentarian are presented to SGA during formal meetings. During the meeting, the author of the motion presents his/her overarching idea to the President’s Council and Executive Board. Only the President’s Council votes on a motion, however, Executive Board members are allowed to provide input during the discussion.

During each SGA meeting, The Administrative Chair is in charge of taking formal and informal minutes and taking attendance. Every month, a compiled document of SGA's meeting minutes will be accessible to all Colby students and community members, in order to ensure accountability and open communication on behalf of SGA.
The Monthly Report Initiative aims to keep students and staff informed about what your representatives are doing to improve student life at Colby. These reports are meant to reduce the number of long emails while still providing a holistic review of everything SGA is up to.
